A Big Win

Today at the Southern Ohio Rabbit Breeders Association rabbit show my new rabbit Mandie won best 4 class.  It was probably one of the most thrilling moments for me in rabbits.  Although I can't really claim the victory as I just got this rabbit from Betty Chu and I have not put in all the hours of grooming it was nice to be representing such a lovely, lovely rabbit.

I am upgrading the status of my two peas in a pod to two fat butter beans.

This one reminds me of a little old fat man.

"I'm so full I can't roll over! Give me a hand, would ya?"

Meet my version of Mandie-

This is John picking Mandie up from the airport.  There were lots of curious onlookers in the Delta cargo office and one of the ladies was kind enough to take this picture.  John loves his bunny duties:)

Unfortunately, I couldn't go with John to pick her up as I had to work.  Here I am taking a break to meet my new beauty, she's very squeezable.

Here's Mandie in her full glory.  Pretty as a post card, isn't she?  She is photographed with her first mom Betty who lives in California.  Betty's rabbits are like rare gems if you are lucky enough to have one.  I am hoping that Mandie will enjoy her new mid west lifestyle.

Are those my babies?  After a disasterous start (Too Sexy pushed her babies out of the cage onto the floor) she decides she will take good care of them.

Two peas in a pod.  I have it on good authority that the dark one is a black.  I assume the pink one is a REW. 

Fat milk belly!  I will make a prediction that this one is a doe. 

I worried about this little fellow yesterday but after two good feedings I couldn't get him to cooperate he was so vigerous!  I predict this is a buck. 

2 Bunnies:)

I am happy to report that Too Sexy had 2 buns today.  Looks to be one white and one color of a sort.  Keeping my fingers crossed that they are vigorous.

Is she or isn't she?

For the last couple of days Too Sexy has been nesting like crazy.  Today she pulled out a lot of hair to add to her nest, which she is building OUTSIDE the nest box.  Silly rabbit did this the last time and then had the bun on the wire.   I was hoping she would change her mind and see how useful a nest box can be.  Now lets hope there are some real bunnies to go with this real nest.

Long day at the show today.  English Angoras were literally THE last breed to be called to the table.  I am thrilled that the wait was worth it as Bunzilla took best opposite sex of breed acquiring a leg over seniors from the junior class.  He's awesome!
